Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer- Building Systems for our New York City team. You will participate in projects from design through construction, developing drawings and specifications for architects, contractors, and owners.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 7+ years of experience, with a focus on building electrical infrastructure. PE license is preferred; Revit and AutoCAD proficiency is expected; strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer on capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Engineer license preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical infrastructure design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of energy codes, regulations, and compliance practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners.
• Coordinate design activities with multi-discipline project teams.
• Design of electric distribution systems and lighting and lighting control systems.
• Perform electrical load, short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
• Construction administration and project close-out involvement.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with stakeholders.
