Job summary

PS&S is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to shape complex projects from concept through completion. Qualifications

• PE license or ability to obtain in appropriate jurisdiction.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 12+ years of electrical design experience with an A/E firm or design-build contractor.
• Experience with building power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Familiarity with NEC, IBC, NFPA and related standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit; knowledge of SKM/ETAP is a plus.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally in NY tri-state area.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, security, IT/AV, and low-voltage systems for diverse facilities.
• Serve as the lead electrical engineer on projects, coordinating with disciplines and mentoring junior staff.
• Provide technical mentorship and oversee professional growth of team members.
• Ensure compliance with client criteria, codes, and standards.
• Review drawings and documents for QA/QC.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and civil colleagues for integrated designs.
• Perform calculations and analysis (e.g., load flow, protective devices) to optimize performance.
• Conduct site assessments and advise on improvements.
• Support feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Produce sketches, drawings, and specifications using CAD/design software.
• Support clients and contractors during construction.
