Job summary

Bowmar LLC in Fort Wayne, Indiana, seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead development of commercial and military aerospace electronics. You will drive new product development, guide sustaining engineering, and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards.

Emphasis on Lean Product Development and value stream mapping. Responsibilities include leading design of electronic and electro-mechanical products, analyzing specs, preparing BOMs, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years in aerospace/high-rel electronics design or 20+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with PCB design tools and electrical system design.
• Working knowledge of IPC, AS9100, MIL-STDs, ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of aerospace electronic products and systems.
• Analyze requirements; prepare proposals and BOMs for quotation packages.
• Perform calculations to set design parameters and specs.
• Oversee installation and testing of electrical assemblies to meet specs.
• Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, QA, and supply chain.
• Develop work instructions, routing, and change notices.
• Lead design reviews using Lean Product Development and VSM.
• Drive continuous improvement for quality, cost, and lead-time.
