Job summary

Bowmar in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of aerospace electronic products for commercial and military applications. You will drive new product initiatives, guide sustaining engineering, and ensure designs meet customer, regulatory, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant aerospace/high-reliability electronics design experience.
• Advanced experience with PCB design tools: Altium Designer, SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD.
• Experience designing electrical systems and components.
• Familiarity with AS9100, MIL-STDs, and ITAR compliance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and engineering leadership.
• Experience leading projects in Lean environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of aerospace electronic products and assemblies.
• Analyze requirements and prepare proposals and BOMs.
• Perform calculations to establish design parameters and specs.
• Coordinate testing and validation of electrical assemblies.
• Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
• Develop work instructions, routing, and engineering change notices.
• Lead design reviews using Lean Product Development and Value Stream Mapping.
• Drive continuous improvement for quality, cost, and lead-time.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff.
• Support annual engineering strategic deployment goals.
