Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Electrical Technical Specialist to design and support critical infrastructure for our Building Engineering Services Group in Minnesota.

Responsibilities include performing engineering tasks under a licensed engineer, producing design drawings and construction documents, preparing design and quantity calculations, creating specifications, coordinating with other disciplines, and guiding other Technical Specialists when required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in the discipline.
• Aptitude and hands-on experience with discipline-specific computer applications.
• Extensive knowledge of industry standards in the discipline.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer.
• Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying engineering techniques and procedures.
• Produce design drawings and construction documents using computer‑aided design and other design software.
• Prepare design and quantity calculations.
• Create specifications and contract documents.
• Coordinate with other disciplines as necessary.
• When required, coordinate the work of one or more Technical Specialists.
