Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr Electrical Design Engineer for Starlink to own hardware life‑cycle from concept to production. You will design, verify, and drive boards used in satellites and ground segments, interfacing with mechanical, thermal, software, and RF teams.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical design of high‑reliability electronics, a BS in EE/CE/Physics, and strong Python/C++. Occasional travel and extended hours may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics.
• 5+ years of industry experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
• Strong understanding of mixed-signal design and high-speed electronics.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop high‑reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring‑up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, test, and on‑orbit performance of complex electrical designs.
• Get hands‑on and support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
• Work closely with engineers from adjacent disciplines to deliver tightly integrated, high‑performance hardware.
• Challenge assumptions and requirements, learn from mistakes, and stay open to new approaches.
