Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer for the Starlink Satellites Payload to own the hardware life cycle from concept to flight.

You will design, analyze, and verify high‑reliability electronics for space systems, working across electrical, mechanical, thermal, software, and RF domains. You'll lead part selection, schematic capture, PCB oversight, and on‑orbit performance reviews while collaborating with teammates across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field.
• 5+ years of design/analysis experience.
• Experience with mixed-signal boards and high-frequency signals.
• Proficiency in Python or C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop high‑reliability electronics for satellites.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring‑up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, test, and on‑orbit performance of complex electrical designs.
• Get hands‑on and support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
• Work closely with engineers from adjacent disciplines to deliver tightly integrated, high‑performance hardware.
• Challenge assumptions, question requirements, learn from mistakes, and approach problems with an open mind.
