Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Starlink) to own the hardware life-cycle across avionics and payload subsystems. You will oversee the design, development, and testing of high‑reliability electronics for satellite communications, coordinating with software, mechanical, and thermal teams to deliver integrated hardware for space missions.

The role requires 8+ years in hardware design, a strong background in mixed-signal design, and hands-on production experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
• 8+ years of experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams in aerospace hardware programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for satellites communications.
• Evaluate third party electrical and design integration solutions.
• Partner with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and test teams.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, and hardware bring-up.
