Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer for the Starlink payload to own the hardware lifecycle from concept to on‑orbit performance.

You will design high‑reliability electronics for satellites, collaborate with mechanical, RF, software, and test teams, and bring hardware from prototype through production for flight. The role requires a strong foundation in mixed‑signal design, power and signal integrity, and hands-on hardware bring‑up, with ITAR considerations and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another STEM discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in circuit analysis/design of electronics hardware.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, test, and on-orbit performance of complex electrical designs.
• Get hands-on and support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
• Work with mechanical, thermal, software, test, supply chain, silicon design, RF and antenna teams to deliver integrated hardware.
• Challenge assumptions, question requirements, and learn from mistakes.
