Job summary

Brown and Caldwell in the United States seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to lead power distribution and industrial electrical design projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients on municipal and industrial water/wastewater facilities.

The role emphasizes design of low- to medium-voltage systems, coordination with civil, structural, and mechanical teams, field support during construction, and development of contract drawings using 2D/3D approaches.

Qualifications

• Typically, a minimum of 5 years related work experience in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Has achieved or is working towards achieving professional license.
• Typically certified in the SMS Framework, and progressing through the SMS competencies.

Responsibilities

• Design low-voltage (up to 480V) and medium-voltage (up to 15kV) electrical power distribution systems.
• Oversee conduit, duct bank, and cable tray systems.
• Coordinate the design of lighting systems.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
• Prepare construction specifications for electrical equipment and systems.
• Perform engineering services during construction including submittal review and RFIs.
• Carry out short circuit and arc flash studies.
• Plan and track electrical scope, schedule, and budget at project level.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving needs.
