Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Florida to lead electrical power distribution design for industrial/water/wastewater projects. The role includes mentoring junior staff, interfacing with clients, and delivering 2D/3D design packages, with strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The candidate will design LV/MV systems up to 15kV, coordinate with civil/structural/mechanical teams, and support construction with submittals and RFIs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Professional license in progress or achieved
• SMS Framework certification or progression in SMS competencies

Responsibilities

• Design LV up to 480V and MV up to 15kV power distribution with switchgear, MCCs, panels, and transformers
• Oversee conduit, duct bank, and cable tray systems
• Coordinate lighting system design
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines
• Prepare construction specifications for electrical equipment and systems
• Perform construction engineering services including submittal reviews and RFIs
• Carry out short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash studies
• Plan and track electrical scope, schedule, and budget at the project level
• Adapt to additional assignments as needs evolve
