Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Electrical Engineer 5 to design electrical master plans and power systems for critical infrastructure across projects in the United States. You will perform studies, develop designs, validate calculations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical knowledge through papers, and support sales with proposals. A PE license, 7 years of experience, and travel readiness are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE license (Professional Engineer).
• 7 years of relevant experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• With general direction, develop basic to highly complex designs for electrical master plans and power systems.
• Perform power system studies and calculations, including lighting, communications, and facility analyses.
• Conduct site reviews and align designs with site requirements and codes.
• Contribute to Technical Knowledge Management through white papers and documentation.
• Prepare technical papers for industry journals and collaborate on proposals for clients.
• Meet with clients to understand design needs and develop technical solutions.
• Attend industry events to enhance technical expertise and firm visibility.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and supervise project work when assigned.
