Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Electrical Engineer 4 to design electrical master plans, power systems, and facility power solutions for critical infrastructure projects. You will lead design efforts, perform analytical studies, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

You will conduct site reviews, develop technical documentation, and contribute to proposals and industry publications. Travel up to 10% may be required, with a sign-on bonus considered for the successful candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• EIT or FE exam eligibility within 18 months of hire.
• Equivalent additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical master plans, power systems, protection, and generation models for facilities.
• Perform power system studies and electrical calculations (lighting, communications, fire alarm, etc.).
• Conduct site reviews and adapt designs to site conditions and requirements.
• Contribute to Technical Knowledge Management through papers and design docs.
• Prepare technical papers and designs for publication in industry journals.
• Collaborate with sales to develop proposals and ensure alignment with standards.
• Engage with clients to understand needs and develop technical solutions.
• Attend conferences and training to enhance expertise and visibility.
• Provide mentorship and oversight to junior staff and review work.
