Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer 5 to design complex electrical master plans, power systems, and sustainability projects for critical infrastructure. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and leverage advanced tools to deliver designs that meet site-specific requirements.

You will conduct power system studies, assist in proposals, mentor junior staff, and contribute to technical publications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
7 years of relevant experience.
Equivalent directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required depending on project needs, workload, and business demands.

Responsibilities

Develop designs for electrical master plans, power systems, and related facilities.
Perform power system studies, calculations, and related analyses.
Conduct site reviews to confirm conditions and align with requirements.
Contribute to Technical Knowledge Management with papers and case studies.
Prepare technical papers for publication in industry journals.
Collaborate with sales to develop proposals and ensure alignment with standards.
Meet with clients to understand needs and develop technical solutions.
Attend industry conferences to expand expertise and visibility.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
Review and supervise work of junior engineers.
Perform other duties as required.
