Impulse Space is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Digital) to own the high-speed digital architecture behind next generation spacecraft radio systems. You will lead end-to-end hardware design from concept to flight hardware and be hands-on in the lab bringing up boards and validating performance.
The role requires owning schematics and PCB implementation, solving high-speed routing, and collaborating across RF, power, thermal, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready hardware.
Are you a Senior Electrical Engineer who wants to own complex digital hardware full-cycle (defining initial architecture through to validation)?
Do you want to define the next generation of spacecraft communications hardware rather than owning one small piece of the design?
We are exclusively hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer (Digital) for Impulse Space, you will take ownership of the high-speed digital architecture behind next generation of spacecraft radio systems.
This is a genuinely end-to-end hardware design role. Starting with a clean-sheet requirement, you will determine how the digital system should be architected, select the FPGA/SoC, memory and supporting components, define interfaces and connectivity, develop the schematics, and drive the detailed PCB design and high-speed layout.
Your ownership continues when the hardware arrives. You will be hands-on in the lab bringing up your own boards, debugging problems, validating performance and taking the hardware through integration and qualification.
Space or radio experience is not essential. Impulse is primarily looking for exceptional high-speed digital hardware engineers who have owned complex board-level systems. Relevant experience could come from spacecraft, defense, robotics, automotive, computing, networking, communications or advanced semiconductor evaluation/reference hardware.
In return, you will join an engineering environment built around ownership rather than silos. You will have the opportunity to take a complex system from a blank sheet of paper to working flight hardware, with the technical freedom, mentorship and resources to make major architecture decisions yourself.
For an engineer who has reached the limits of what they can own within a larger organization, this represents the opportunity to take on broader technical responsibility, greater influence and significantly more end-to-end ownership while developing cutting-edge hardware that will operate in space.
