Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking an Electrical Engineer to own PCB-level hardware from schematic capture through bring-up, test and integration on a new space vehicle project.
You will work with multidisciplinary spacecraft teams across digital, analog and power electronics, taking ownership of hardware and driving it through design, build, and integration toward mission success.
Do you want to be a TRUE Responsible Engineer, genuinely owning hardware full-cycle - rather than hand it off once the schematic is complete?
Do you want to work in an industry-leading startup in the Space sector developing next-gen autonomous spacecrafts - offering huge equity & rapid career progression?
(No prior Aerospace/Space experience required!)
If so, this could be an exciting next step.
Impulse Space is expanding its avionics team following the award of a major new spacecraft program and is looking for Electrical Engineers to help develop the hardware behind a new space vehicle.
Whether your specialism is digital, analog or power electronics, Impulse is interested in Responsible Engineers who have taken real PCB-level hardware through 2+ development lifecycles to take on a major project.
Most importantly, you won't simply design something and throw it over the wall.
You will take ownership of your hardware from detailed design and schematic capture through build, bring-up, troubleshooting, testing and integration - working closely with the wider spacecraft team to understand how your design performs within the complete system.
This is an opportunity to join at the beginning of a new spacecraft program rather than inherit a mature product.
The hardware you develop will contribute directly to the initial vehicle design, and as the program and Impulse continue to grow, there is a genuine opportunity for strong engineers to expand with it — taking ownership of larger pieces of hardware, becoming the technical authority for their area and progressing into broader technical leadership.
If you are currently designing electronics but want more ownership, more visibility and a much closer connection between your work and the finished vehicle
