Job summary

WEISS North America, Inc is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to support our products from build through customer integration. The role involves hands-on work with electrical control systems, field devices, and automated machinery during assembly, commissioning, and support.

Travel up to 15% is required. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of motion control experience and strong knowledge of Rockwell or Siemens ecosystems, with good problem-solving and customer communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in electrical engineering or mechatronics; extensive controls experience.
• 5+ years’ controls experience on automated machinery; 8+ years if non‑degree.
• Strong troubleshooting in Rockwell or Siemens ecosystems; or similar environments.
• Ability to work safely with systems up to 1000 V and on customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot controls, motion, and electrical issues; provide remote support to customer teams.
• Panel design, enclosure layouts, schematics in AutoCAD/EPLAN/SolidWorks Electrical.
• Configure PLC logic, HMI, drives, and encoder feedback; perform tuning and commissioning.
• Ensure safety, NFPA/UL compliance, and maintain documentation and SOPs.
• Travel up to 15% for startup, commissioning, and field support.
