Job summary

WEISS North America, Inc is seeking a hands-on Electrical Controls Engineer in Willoughby, OH to support products from build through customer integration. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, field service, and strong PLC and motion control skills for Rockwell or Siemens ecosystems.

Travel up to 15% is required; you will design wiring, panels, and schematics, perform FAT, and assist customers during startup and commissioning while ensuring safety per NFPA 70E and UL 508A.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or an Associate’s Degree with relevant experience.
• 5+ years of controls experience on automated machinery; 8+ years without degree.
• Experience with Rockwell or Siemens ecosystems.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
• Strong troubleshooting and safety skills up to 1000 V.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot & provide customer support for controls, motion, and electrical issues.
• Provide remote support to customer engineering teams during integration.
• Diagnose faults across electrical, controls, drive, network, and instrumentation domains.
• Perform root cause analysis and feed corrective actions back into design and documentation.
• Travel to customer sites for startup, commissioning, and field issues.
