Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Controls Systems Engineer to join our Lynchburg, VA team. In this role, you will design, program, test, and optimize advanced control systems that support critical manufacturing operations.

You'll work with modern automation platforms, solve complex problems, and contribute directly to process improvements within a highly regulated and technical environment. Location is on-site in Lynchburg, with relocation available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, plus 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, and controls programming on industrial systems.
• Strong trouble-shooting, documentation, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC programs for complex industrial control systems (Rockwell/AB, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
• Create and review system design documents and specifications.
• Develop and execute test plans, commissioning activities, and motion-based control systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and implement effective solutions.
• Analyze production processes for optimization and performance improvement.
