Job summary

James Hardie Building Products Inc. is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to ensure PLC programs, HMIs, and IT backbones run smoothly to manufacture fiber cement products efficiently.

You will work with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Safety to drive productivity and reliability, including developing plans for outages, updating drawings, and supporting IT and off-site engineers. A bachelor’s in electrical fields plus 10+ years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of controls experience in a continuous 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• CMMS skills with Hexagon or similar maintenance planning tool are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, install, maintain plant control equipment and systems.
• Make or manage control/electrical system changes as requested for process modifications and improvements.
• Support capital and plant projects including bids, contractor management, and equipment start-up.
