Job summary

Corning is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Designer to support electrical controls design, documentation, and implementation for new equipment and capacity expansion in Optical Fiber manufacturing. You will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliance with standards and successful project execution.

This full-time role requires up to 25% travel, mostly within North Carolina with some international travel. Strong CAD experience and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and create electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Understanding of industrial electrical and controls systems.
• Experience with electrical CAD and documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain electrical controls drawings (schematics, P&IDs, layouts).
• Update and revise documentation through ECR process.
• Support equipment build, installation, and startup by resolving design issues.
• Assist with FAT and incorporate field changes into drawings.
• Support new equipment, replacements, and capacity expansion projects.
• Help improve and standardize equipment designs.
