Job summary

Octagon Group seeks a Senior Electrical Controls Design Engineer to lead the end-to-end design of industrial control panels for high-power infrastructure used in AI and data-center projects.

You will own from requirements through production, creating schematics, layouts, and BOMs while ensuring UL 508A compliance and manufacturability. This onsite role in Lewisville, TX offers relocation assistance and visa transfer consideration.

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing industrial control panels or electrical control systems.
• Ability to create panel designs from a blank sheet, not just modify existing drawings.
• Knowledge of UL 508A and UL-listed panel shop environments.
• Experience producing schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams and BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial control panels and electrical control systems from the ground up.
• Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams and complete design packages.
• Select control-system components and verify their technical compatibility.
• Develop accurate bills of materials and wire schedules.
• Review sales and engineering specifications to identify unsuitable components.
• Design in accordance with UL 508A, UL 891, NEC Article 409 and related standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing and applications engineering teams.
• Support testing, troubleshooting and production transfer.
