Job summary

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Control Panel Designer to own the full lifecycle of industrial control panel design, from schematic development through vendor coordination and production release. This role sits in the BMS Hardware & Electrical Systems team, focusing on panel-level electrical design and power distribution for its battery systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 3+ years.
Strong proficiency with EPLAN required.
Experience designing industrial control panels and wiring architectures.
Familiarity with UL 508A and NEC NFPA 70 requirements.
Experience coordinating with external panel fabrication vendors.
Excellent communication in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Design industrial control panels to UL 508A and NEC standards.
Create complete schematics, layouts, wiring diagrams, and BOMs in EPLAN.
Develop high-voltage power and control distribution up to 600VAC/2000VDC.
Select and integrate panel components (breakers, fuses, transformers, drives, connectors).
Coordinate with vendors for build, validation, and release.
Oversee high-voltage tests (HIPOT, insulation resistance) and DFMEA efforts.
Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Manufacturing, and Test teams.
