Job summary
Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Technician to lead technical design activities for complex infrastructure projects. You will prepare site plans, grading, and utility layouts using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bentley MicroStation, while guiding junior staff and ensuring design quality.
The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, adherence to standards, and mentoring of engineers and technicians across projects in a dynamic, ESOP-owned company
Qualifications
- Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
- Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required.
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
- Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline.
- Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
- Uses CAD/BIM tools to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
- May supervise an assigned team of engineering technicians and support personnel.
