Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Electric Power Systems Engineer in Reston, Virginia within the Analysis Solutions Business Area. The role focuses on engineering assessments of critical infrastructure, substations, and power distribution systems, requiring rigorous analysis and clear communication of complex findings.

The selected candidate will integrate engineering principles with state-of-the-art modeling tools, produce technical reports for senior officials, and maintain an active TS/SCI Polygraph

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Polygraph clearance and U.S. Citizenship required.
• Expertise applying advanced engineering principles and techniques.
• Experience planning, engineering, and designing electric power systems, with emphasis on substations and distribution.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and design documentation.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including briefings to senior officials.

Responsibilities

• Integrate all-source intelligence, facility expertise, engineering principles, and industry best practices to characterize WMD-related facilities and configurations.
• Utilize modeling and simulation tools to analyze complex electric power systems.
• Provide engineering expertise and technical judgment throughout the characterization process for accurate assessments.
• Develop technical reports, briefings, and other written products describing electrical systems and dependencies.
• Analyze electrical infrastructure capabilities, vulnerabilities, and trends to support customer requirements.
• Brief senior officials and decision-makers on engineering assessments and conclusions.
• Communicate effectively with personnel across varied technical backgrounds and organizational levels.
