Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Safe and Sustainable Operations in Houston to lead EHS program transformations from compliance to strategic advantage. You will guide audits, management systems, and regulatory programs while building resilient operations for diverse clients.

The role emphasizes leadership, client advisory, and cross-functional collaboration. With 4–7 years of EHS experience and strong communication skills, you will mentor teams, drive growth, and influence sustainability

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4-6 years (7+ preferred) in multimedia EHS compliance and management systems, including consulting.
• Strong knowledge in EHS compliance areas (e-waste, hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, EPCRA).
• Experience assessing regulatory applicability, compliance reporting, and regulator communication.
• Experience writing proposals and managing projects, budgets, and timelines.
• Ability to lead initiatives, delegate, and mentor teams.
• Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
• Positive, collaborative approach with travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS compliance audits, assessments, and corrective action across client sites.
• Develop and implement EHS management systems and regulatory programs.
• Support permit applications and regulatory agency communications.
• Provide on-site compliance support and technical expertise at facilities.
• Manage multiple projects end-to-end within scope, schedule and budget.
• Identify growth opportunities and prepare technical proposals for new business.
• As project manager, coordinate with clients and ERM teams to meet expectations.
• Build and maintain client relationships to drive repeat business.
• Mentor junior staff and share best practices across ERM network.
