Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a Principal Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to lead safety programs across diverse industries in the Seattle area. You will drive compliance, mentor consultants, and deliver measurable business value while shaping strategic safety initiatives.

You will apply deep knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard analysis, and risk assessment to improve safety performance, manage projects and budgets, and grow ERM’s Health & Safety Services

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related science degree.
• 6+ years of relevant EHS experience, ideally within technology, biopharma, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Washington, Oregon, and federal EHS regulations.
• Ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams.
• General safety experience with OSHA requirements.
• Driver's License required with ability to travel to client locations across a large geographic area.
• CIH/CSP/ASP credentials preferred or in progress.
• Experience in labs, R&D, or high-tech manufacturing environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve innovative safety programs addressing audits, JHA, hazard control, and safety processes.
• Conduct audits, JHA, risk assessments, industrial hygiene evaluations, and safety assessments.
• Support client safety performance through training, field coaching, and safety committee participation.
• Build strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities through technical proposals and advisory support.
• Lead large-scale safety programs and multidisciplinary project teams across ERM’s network to solve client challenges.
