Job summary

ERM seeks a Principal Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) to lead safety initiatives in the Seattle area. You will drive compliance, mentor a team, and deliver measurable safety improvements for tech, biopharma, and manufacturing clients.

You will develop and manage comprehensive EHS programs, perform audits and risk assessments, and foster trusted advisor relationships with senior client leaders. Requires 6+ years in EHS and strong regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related science degree.
• 6+ years of EHS experience in technology, biopharma, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Washington, Oregon, and federal EHS regulations.
• Driver's license and ability to travel to client locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve safety programs across complex client environments.
• Conduct audits, JHAs, risk assessments, IH evaluations, and EHS assessments.
• Support safety performance through training, coaching, and safety walks.
• Analyze data and deliver clear reports and actionable insights.
• Serve as trusted safety advisor for labs, facilities, or programs.
• Develop compliance procedures, permits, and risk management systems.
• Build client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Lead large-scale safety programs and cross-functional project teams.
