Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Seattle is seeking a Principal Consultant, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to lead safety programs for technology, biopharma, and manufacturing clients. You’ll drive compliance, advise site leaders, and mentor a team of consultants across ERM’s global network.

You’ll develop and implement innovative EHS strategies, conduct audits, risk assessments, and JHAs, and translate findings into practical improvements that reduce hazards and protect workers,

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related science.
• Minimum 6+ years of EHS experience in tech, biopharma, manufacturing, or energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Washington, Oregon, and federal EHS regulations.
• Experience managing projects, budgets, and teams.
• Solid OSHA knowledge; hazard recognition, JHA, emergency planning, risk assessments, incident investigations, machine guarding, chemical safety, LOTO.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to document and prepare technical reports.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve innovative safety programs for local and global clients.
• Conduct audits, JHAs, risk assessments, industrial hygiene evaluations, and targeted EHS assessments.
• Support client safety performance through training, field coaching, safety committees, safety walks, drills, investigations, and recommendations.
• Analyze safety data and deliver actionable insights to reduce hazards and improve compliance.
• Serve as trusted safety advisor for labs, equipment, facilities, or programs.
• Develop EHS compliance procedures, permits, reports, and risk management systems.
• Build strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Design, lead, and deliver large-scale safety programs and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support ERM Partners/Project Managers in delivering projects meeting financial and satisfaction targets.
