Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of environmental health & safety principles and regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field with progressive EHS experience; Master’s preferred.
• Strong communication, incident investigation, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Independently develops, implements, and administers laboratory-wide EHS programs with metrics and minimal oversight.
• Leads regulatory inspections, interprets findings, and briefs leadership on remediation plans.
• Establishes standards to ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal standards.
• Researches external practices and trends; drives improvements to keep programs current.
• Designs employee training and mentors EHS staff on investigations and engagement.
• Leads complex incident investigations and directs corrective actions.
• Analyzes trends to identify systemic risks and recommend leadership actions.
• Responds during emergencies involving hazardous materials or fires; leads after-action reviews.
• Coordinates cross-functional EHS initiatives and supports budgeting and procurement.
