Job summary

Jabil in Hanover Park, IL seeks an experienced EHS Specialist to lead our environmental, health, and safety efforts as the sole EHS resource at the facility. You will develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, train staff, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations while promoting a strong safety culture.

You will conduct risk assessments, guide incident investigations, manage documentation, and support site leadership with performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Preference given to candidates with education or training specific to EHS in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to balance customer and operational goals with EHS compliance.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and maintains EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Partners with operations, engineering, supervisors, and employees to conduct risk assessments and support safe equipment design, workspace layout, and management of change activities.
• Conducts facility inspections to identify hazards, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and monitor compliance.
• Provides guidance on hazardous materials, chemical safety, fire prevention, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Develops and delivers EHS training and employee communications to promote safe work practices and a strong safety culture.
• Participates in incident investigations, identifies root causes, and supports implementation of corrective actions.
• Coordinates workers' compensation case management.
• Maintains required EHS records, documentation, permits, and compliance files.
• Reports EHS performance, issues, and recommendations to site leadership.
• Supports corporate EHS and quality initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.
