Job summary

Andersen Corporation is seeking a safety and environmental professional in Des Moines, IA to lead site safety and environmental programs and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role focuses on continuous improvement and risk reduction for associates.

You will develop training, conduct inspections, and collaborate with engineering to implement risk controls. Relocation is possible; sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering or related discipline; Masters preferred.
• 3–5 years of safety-related and/or environmental management experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of government health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Demonstrated project management and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and coordination of safety and environmental programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and deliver site-specific safety and environmental training and testing.
• Conduct safety assessments of new or modified equipment/processes with engineering.
• Initiate projects to reduce risks and improve site procedures.
• Perform environmental inspections, data collection and recordkeeping.
