Job summary

Sunlight Batteries USA is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to lead safety and environmental programs at the lead-acid battery manufacturing facility. You will be a subject matter expert driving compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement while mentoring teams on safe work practices.

The role requires strong OSHA/EPA knowledge, on-floor presence, and collaboration with operations to strengthen Sunlight's safety culture across all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading incident investigations, audits, root cause analyses, and corrective action programs.
• Experience delivering technical safety training programs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive safety audits, inspections, JHAs, and risk assessments.
• Lead investigations involving workplace injuries, near misses, environmental incidents, and property damage events.
• Develop and facilitate employee and leadership training programs on hazard communication, lockout/tagout, respiratory protection, PPE, chemical safety, and emergency response.
• Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
