Job summary

Solid Power is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to advance EHS programs and PSM implementation across our battery manufacturing operations. The role partners with operations, engineering, maintenance, lab, and business teams to strengthen safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in industrial safety, knowledge of high-hazard environments, and strong communication skills to influence safety across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of EHS experience, with 2+ years in high-hazard manufacturing under PSM requirements.
• OSHA 10/30 certification; experience with chemical, industrial gas, or battery manufacturing operations.
• Experience in incident investigations, audits, hazard and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Support OSHA, EPA, NFPA and other safety regulations across operations.
• Maintain chemical inventories, SDS databases, and labeling per GHS.
• Conduct safety audits, JSAs, and hazard assessments; lead investigations and corrective actions.
• Develop and improve EHS policies, emergency plans, and PSM programs.
• Collaborate with operations to integrate safe work practices into projects.
• Monitor safety indicators and audit findings to drive improvements.
