Job summary

Chart Industries in New Prague, MN is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the EHS program at the site. You will develop and implement health and safety policies, ensure compliance with OSHA/EPA/ISO standards, and drive continuous improvement across safety performance and regulatory reporting.

The role requires hands-on management, audits, incident investigations, and training development to protect employees and contractors while supporting production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; may substitute degree with work experience that reflects growth in job scope, complexity and accountability.
• 5+ years of experience in an EHS-related role, manufacturing environment preferred.
• Solid working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO, NFPA, NEC, DOT, and other Federal/ State regulatory bodies.
• Proven results in improving Safety and Environmental performance records.
• Ability to influence and motivate employees to think and work safely.
• Proven results in utilizing multiple methods to identify workplace hazards, such as machine guard audits, ergonomic assessments, job safety I hazard analysis (JSA / JHA).

Responsibilities

• Direct, develop and oversee general safety/environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, ISO, and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety.
• Gather and report information for regulatory reporting.
• Manage the site safety and health programs to meet Chart's standards.
• Conduct on-site audits, inspections and analyses; communicate findings and implement corrective actions.
• Participate/lead incident investigations for near misses and OSHA recordables.
• Plan and direct safety orientation, trainings and emergency plans.
• Create and improve training materials to develop safety awareness.
