Job summary

Chart Industries in New Prague, MN, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager with day-to-day HSE activities on the production floor.

You will monitor OSHA compliance, conduct safety audits, train staff, and help implement continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safe work practices across the site. This role requires strong communication and detail orientation.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency response or formal safety role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and group presentation skills.
• Maintain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to coordinate multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor OSHA compliance and state regulations on safety practices.
• Train and assist others (Area Managers, Coordinators, staff) in safety tasks.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards.
• Collaborate with production to create a safe work environment and pursue improvements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in policies, training, equipment and environmental control.
• Assist incident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Investigate near-misses and report to management.
• Coordinate emergency safety drills and monitor safety performance.
• Provide safety orientation and ongoing training to staff.
• Maintain environmental documentation and perform audits.
