Job summary

Genentech in California is seeking a seasoned Safety Professional to embed EHS expertise into biologics manufacturing operations. You will lead environmental risk assessments, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive injury prevention through training and program management.

The role requires 5+ years in EHS, strong communication, and the ability to influence safety culture across the site. This is an on-site position with standard company benefits and no relocation approval.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS).
• Experience in manufacturing and/or biotech/pharma preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA/Cal/OSHA and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Hazard Identification and Environmental Risk Assessment: lead environmental assessments and regulatory exposure evaluations to identify liabilities.
• Specialized Environmental Monitoring and Compliance: design and implement monitoring and sampling strategies for regulatory compliance.
• Compliance and Regulatory Resource: ensure site compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and act as a reference on regulatory changes.
• Health and Safety Training & Guidance: develop and deliver training on hazard awareness and controls.
• Program Management: own site-level EHS programs and related activities.
• Incident Management & Prevention: lead safety investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
