Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. in Florida seeks a Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety Consultant to help grow our practice across Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Clearwater, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach. You will lead EHS services, mentor staff, and manage process safety projects for industrial clients.

The role requires entrepreneurial drive, strong communication, and the ability to implement strategies to expand our market share. Travel and fieldwork up to 30% are expected.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years (15+ preferred) in consulting, manufacturing or industrial environments with process safety principles, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments and travel as needed.
• Experience delivering project planning, controls, budgeting, risk management, and contract/subcontract management in large programs.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to present at conferences and client meetings.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Field work and overnight travel may be required.
• Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Environmental Management practice focused on business development of EHS services, with emphasis on H&S, mentorship, and expansion of services.
• Lead and deliver process safety projects for clients in oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
• Develop and implement PSM programs aligned with OSHA 1910.119 and EPA Risk Management Plan requirements under 40 CFR 68.
• Conduct and lead hazard analyses (PHA/HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA).
• Perform audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Review and interpret PSI materials including P&IDs, PFDs, and regulatory documents.
• Support mechanical integrity, MoC, and emergency planning services.
• Communicate process-safety risk to senior leadership and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Provide clients with project management, technical advice and training related to environmental compliance and management systems.
• Support Geosyntec marketing and client development.
• Fieldwork up to 30%, overnight travel up to 30%.
