Job summary

Solid Power is seeking a Senior Safety Specialist to support growth of our battery manufacturing operations. You will join the EHS team, partnering with operations, engineering, maintenance, and labs to strengthen safety performance and regulatory compliance, including Process Safety Management.

The role focuses on advancing EHS programs, chemical inventory management, emergency preparedness, training coordination, hazard analysis, and continuous improvement across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field.
• 7+ years of EHS experience in high-hazard manufacturing (PSM).
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience with incident investigations and risk assessments.
• Experience with chemical inventory systems, SDS administration, and labeling (GHS).
• Proficient in MS Office and EHS management systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA and PSM requirements.
• Maintain chemical inventory systems, SDS databases and labeling per GHS.
• Conduct safety audits, JSAs, hazard assessments, and audits.
• Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Develop and improve EHS policies, procedures and emergency plans.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, labs and engineering on safe work practices.
• Monitor safety indicators, incident trends and risk assessments.
• Support chemical/hazardous waste management and training programs.
