Job summary

Tech Observer in Durham, NC is seeking a Manager, Health, Safety and Environment to support the expansion of our DPI to include LMO production at our RTP facility. The role will develop, implement, and track HSE deliverables and readiness prior to start of operations.

The position leads occupational safety programs, ensures regulatory compliance, and collaborates across departments to build a proactive HSE culture on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, or related field.
• Professional HSE certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement robust HSE programs and controls before LMO production.
• Integrate LMO HSE aspects into campus frameworks and training curriculums.
• Oversee external safety providers for construction safety performance.
• Serve as senior HSE advisor on risks, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead Occupational Safety programs across the campus (e.g., PHA, LOTO, Fire Safety).
• Collaborate with departments to align HSE initiatives with site strategy.
• Track HSE metrics and support KPI reporting for Durham operations.
• Lead HSE training, safety committees, and engagement programs.
