Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Starship) to lead and implement comprehensive EHS programs at the Starship development and test site. The role requires hands-on expertise across environmental and occupational safety, with a focus on safe execution of hazardous operations and strong regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in design, development and operational oversight of EH&S disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety reviews of hazardous operations with test engineers and technicians.
• Lead or assist in incident investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH, and other regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement EHS policies.
• Develop safety and environmental programs including OSHA standards, hazmat, cryogenics, confined space, radiation safety.
• Develop SPCC & SWPPP, Title V air permitting, and hazardous waste management programs.
• Identify and implement cost-effective safety controls to protect personnel and the environment.
• Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards; inspect facilities and equipment.
