Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to support the Starship program at our Brownsville, TX site. You will lead EHS initiatives, perform hazard analyses, and ensure strict regulatory compliance for hazardous operations.

The role requires 5+ years of EHS experience across environmental and occupational safety disciplines, with a focus on incident investigations, OSHA/NFPA standards, and environmental programs. Relocation to Brownsville may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing and overseeing EHS programs.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA and related regulations.
• Proven ability to lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Experience with safety program implementation at complex facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety reviews of hazardous operations with test engineers.
• Lead or assist incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH and other agencies.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement health and safety policies.
• Develop safety and environmental programs including hazmat, confined space, and radiation safety.
• Develop environmental programs such as SPCC, SWPPP, Title V air permitting.
• Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards.
• Inspect facilities and equipment to identify and correct hazards.
• Prepare safety contingency plans and trainings.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with EPA, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT, etc.
• Perform environmental compliance and due diligence audits.
