Job summary

Corning Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior EHS Engineer to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across a complex research and production environment.

You will provide advanced technical expertise in chemical safety, industrial hygiene, and process safety management to support development and operations, advancing hazard assessment, risk mitigation, and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Safety, Safety Sciences, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in EHS, industrial hygiene, process safety, or industrial operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of PSM, MOC, and risk assessment methods.
• Understanding of machine safeguarding and energy control.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and sustainment of site EHS programs, including LOTO, machine guarding, chemical safety, confined space, electrical safety, PPE, and MOC.
• Advance Process Safety Management (PSM) principles across operations.
• Provide technical oversight for process and innovation activities to assess hazards and risks.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in chemical and process safety.
• Lead or facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA).
• Support incident investigations and process safety events.
• Support SDS approvals and laboratory chemical safety requirements.
