Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Senior EHS Engineer at our La Porte, IN location. This role is a full-time, on-site position focusing on health and safety program leadership, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across facilities.

The successful candidate will lead injury prevention efforts, analyze data, and collaborate with engineering and operations to embed EHS into projects and daily work. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of EHS related experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.
• Export-controlled data access restrictions apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead fatality and serious injury prevention efforts and coach location leaders.
• Analyze injury and incident data and implement focused injury reduction efforts; lead investigations.
• Oversee the EHS self-assessment (audit) process and coach SPAs to maintain compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance and Operations to integrate EHS into design, changes and capital projects.
• Assist with the facility’s industrial hygiene program including IH sampling, exposure records, and hazardous materials management.
• Assist environmental compliance activities.
• Coach department leaders in EHS accountabilities.
• Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives and promote site culture.
