Job summary

McKinstry is seeking an EHS Director to lead safety across its modular products network in Seattle, WA. The role sets the multi-year safety strategy, builds a team of safety professionals, and partners with senior operations leadership to embed safety in fabrication operations.

The ideal candidate has a deep manufacturing background with proven experience in safety strategy, planning, risk prioritization, and fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• 5+ years in management of a safety team; senior safety partner to leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field; regulatory knowledge and certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead documentation and implementation of changes in the safety program.
• Develop and implement job-specific safety plans and site safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI and other standards across fabrication operations.
• Drive safety strategy, multi-site planning and long-range roadmap with operations leadership.
• Promote a culture of stop-work authority and safety by design across the shop network.
• Coordinate with external safety organizations for progress and best practices.
