Job summary

Yara North America is seeking an experienced HES Manager to lead and execute the company’s health, environment and safety strategy across West Coast U.S. facilities. The role interfaces with senior leadership and requires collaboration with operations, maintenance and EHS teams.

The position reports to the VP of HESQ & Regulatory Affairs and is based in Stockton, CA with a hybrid work schedule. A strong regulatory background and industry certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in OH&S or related field (Masters preferred).
• Professional certification in an EHS discipline (CSP, CHMM, OHST, etc.).
• 7–10 years of HES Manager experience.
• California compliance knowledge and fertilizer industry experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, planning and organizational skills; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and advance the HES program for facilities in the West Coast.
• Audit own and third-party facilities for regulatory compliance.
• Train and support facility personnel across functions.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge and act as EHS expert.
• Lead incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Conduct CalOSHA, CalEPA, CARB, USCG trainings and audits.
• Monitor safety and performance reports and benchmark against industry standards.
