Job summary

Olympus Corporation seeks an experienced EHS leader to coordinate compliance initiatives across Environment, Health, and Safety for our Minnesota facilities. The role develops, manages, and reviews policies with Legal, Operations and senior management to ensure regulatory alignment.

You will lead audits, training, and ISO14001 programs, oversee environmental and safety management, and guide regional sites in maintaining compliance while promoting a strong safety culture across Olympus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Certification in CSP, ASP, or CIH or advanced coursework/master’s degree, with ability to gain within one year.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws related to health, safety and environmental protection.
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience dealing with EHS policy and compliance issues.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to create and deliver effective training materials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to travel to all regional sites (up to ~25% of time).
  • Strong communication and safety culture advocacy.
  • ISO14001 knowledge and ability to lead related activities.
  • DOT/RCRA training within the last year or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Laser Safety Officer certified or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination of EHS compliance initiatives across Environment, Health and Safety and related areas.
  • Develop, manage, and review policies and practices for EHS programs and facilities.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Operations, and Senior Management to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Oversee occupational health and safety management programs at facilities and field-based personnel.
  • Audit and improve environmental and safety policies; lead training programs.
  • Drive ISO14001 implementation or continuation; audit sites for compliance.
  • Support site management in regulatory compliance and safety culture promotion.
  • Travel to regional sites to support EHS needs and program updates.
