We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of EHS policies and programs. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, promoting a safe workplace culture, and driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and refine EHS procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Manage emergency response planning and capabilities.
- Advise management on EHS matters and provide subject matter expertise across all functions.
- Lead investigations of accidents and near‑miss incidents, and oversee corrective actions.
- Review and approve the introduction of new chemicals, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance.
- Oversee the maintenance of safety systems, including fire detection and suppression.
- Develop and maintain safety training programs in support of company EHS objectives.
- Track and report safety metrics, ensuring continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Provide guidance during capital project reviews and site initiatives.
- Support safety committees and lead team meetings focused on risk mitigation.
- Monitor and interpret new and proposed regulations; develop implementation and training programs accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with environmental programs such as air quality, stormwater, hazardous materials, pollution prevention, and spill response.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and training to maintain compliance with permits and safety programs.
- Serve as subject matter expert on regulatory compliance related to occupational health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Participate in case management related to workplace injuries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an EHS‑related, technical, scientific, or engineering discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or related industries, preferably in a large facility.
- Strong knowledge of EHS data collection, evaluation, and reporting.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Experience leading teams and providing technical guidance.
- Preferred certifications: CSP, CIH, OSHA 30‑hour General Industry Trainer.
- Experience with formal Safety Management Systems, Hazard Prevention & Control Systems, and ISO 14001/45001 standards.
Compensation
- Salary range: $72K–$147K, depending on experience.
- Eligible for annual bonus (target: 10%).
