Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Vice President to support Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance services across the Northeast. Location: Shelton or Glastonbury, CT, with other northeast offices considered.

This role targets a seasoned compliance specialist who can manage complex projects, mentor staff, and help grow the business. You will lead multi-media programs, work with regulatory agencies, prepare reports, assist with proposals, and help develop new business while maintaining high

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 7–15+ years of progressive environmental compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. EPA regulations and Northeast state programs (CT, MA, NY, RI, NH, ME, VT).
• Proven experience managing projects and client relationships.
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and deliver environmental compliance projects on schedule and within budget.
• Perform regulatory applicability analyses and compliance gap assessments.
• Prepare compliance documentation, including: Air permits and compliance reports; SPCC and SWPPP plans and related permit applications; Hazardous waste compliance reviews; Environmental audits and due diligence support.
• Provide construction-phase and operational compliance support as needed.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across WSP business lines.
• Ensure deliverables meet WSP quality standards and regulatory requirements.
