Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a Senior EH&S Specialist to lead safety and regulatory initiatives across a growing multi-site network. You will partner with Operations, Fleet, HR, and site leadership to strengthen workplace safety and environmental stewardship, while mentoring junior staff and guiding continuous improvement.

The role requires advancing OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance, leading complex audits and investigations, and delivering effective training programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
5-7+ years of progressive EH&S experience across multiple sites.
Experience leading safety inspections, compliance audits, and incident investigations.
Certification such as CSP/ASP or OSHA 30+ preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead compliance efforts with OSHA, EPA, DOT, DEA, CDC, and state enviro regulations across multiple sites.
Design and lead facility safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; own risk-mitigation strategy.
Lead investigations of workplace injuries, vehicle accidents, near misses, environmental incidents, and property damage.
Own environmental compliance programs including regulated medical waste, hazardous waste, stormwater, and air emissions.
Develop and deliver employee safety training programs (Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communication, DOT Hazmat).
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports for leadership.
Analyze EH&S performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Serve as advisor to facility leadership on EH&S matters; lead emergency response planning and fleet safety.
